This Case Study, Feng Shui for Select Businesses-Part One, is especially useful to practitioners or those seriously studying feng shui. Some of the businesses highlighted are a medical office, a restaurant, attorney’s office, and spaces that need to be sparsely furnished or not at all (martial arts or yoga studios).
To begin with, the way we evaluate business locations can be quite different from residential spaces. This is mostly about Yin-Yang Theory, but also the different ways we interpret or rank the flying stars (unseen influences) for commercial uses.
What is discussed in this case study can certainly apply to other business types as well. In my own practice, I have even been surprised at the business operators who have contacted me for my services. It has included convenience and liquor stores, a Colonics center, a licensed Board and Care for Disabled Adults, a Sound System retailer and many other establishments which you would not automatically assume would be interested in a metaphysical take on their enterprise.
Yes, I have evaluated office spaces for doctors of Chinese medicine, various other New Age healing centers and the like. But the range of interest has touched on many other spaces that would not immediately come to mind, such as: A bail bond company, a security company, a Kabbalah Center, a plastic surgeon’s office and many businesses with huge warehouse space and manufacturing plants that have also been my clients.
EXCERPT:
“The directional orientation of a building may even influence or mirror the type of business occupying the space. For example, a building which sits (the back of the building) to the east or southeast will resonate with some of the Wood Phase. And the Wood Phase can be related to paper products including the publishing industry. This might just be a subtle overlay. Aviation is associated with the fire element and that is linked to the direction of south. The directions of west and northwest are “metal” type directions and could have a nurturing influence on a business related to finance and investments. One could conceivably seek out a building type based on its orientation, to cater to the type of business that best suits the building type.
Within any and all structures, there will be some areas better than others. Important departments which can produce the most success for the business should be placed in the areas inherently strong for financial luck. Smaller departments, individuals who may not even work full-time, and little used spaces can be relegated to the less favorable locations. For some companies, a Conference Room is used only occasionally and with other companies, the Conference Room might be used daily and it might even be an important place where company heads meet with clients and vendors and close deals.
If the president, CEO or CFO of the company are not physically on the premises many hours a week, then it may not be that important for the head of the company to take the proverbial “corner office” or the best area by Feng Shui criteria.”
Aside from orientation, the shape of a building can also enhance or detract from the business success potential. Lots of good takeaways included in this case study. Whether it’s an entertainment media complex or a frozen food company, Feng Shui input can be relevant and useful.
