Other Schools and teachers set their own distinct curriculums for a variety of reasons, which includes: different styles of Feng Shui, varying amounts of knowledge the teacher has or is willing to share, personal marketing decisions, or other related fields the teacher may want to add to their curriculum. While some teachers use teleseminars, webinars, and DVDs, I prefer the written word for long distance training. My program also includes personal interaction with a student via Skype, email or phone sessions. Anyone local to my area can certainly study with me in person as well. I have even taken students with me on actual jobs.
The material transmitted may vary greatly depending on what Feng Shui tradition is being taught and the biggest difference in curriculums, which I have seen, is simply between classical Feng Shui and the New Age Schools, such as the BTB School. I have been approached by students from other Schools who had as little as one week of training before their teacher proclaimed that the student was ready to consult. This is very unfortunate and can get a new student into quite a bit of stress, confusion and liability.
Our Feng Shui forefathers studied their craft for years, and brought to their practice other areas of expertise such as astronomy, geology, engineering, medical training, and more.
