The idea for this article has been a long time coming, but it was prompted most recently by a client who has been having a difficult time selling a gorgeous new home she built where her childhood home had been. She then had little interest in anyone renting the house. Eventually, she wondered if the house had some kind of bad Feng Shui, which potential buyers or renters could sense when touring the house.
There is always that chance that someone is trying to sell or lease a property that has obvious or non-obvious Feng Shui flaws and I have consulted on many of those homes or businesses over the decades. But when we think about someone selling a home, they stand to make more money than most other financial endeavors, so it is really wrapped up in the person’s own feng shui. This is in the case where the seller is not living in the property they are trying to sell, or lease. Maybe the house for sale or lease is good, but the owner’s property that they live in is undermining them. This is what I mean by the “source” of your wealth.
Many years ago, a client had me evaluate her business location which did great for a long time, but then came a day when she confided that she had some issues going on at the work location and asked if I could have another look at it. I didn’t have anything additional to recommend, but piqued her interest when I pointed out that I had never been to her home. At first she didn’t understand what her home would have to do with problems at the office. I explained how her own wealth luck is partly, if not mostly, influenced by where she lives, where she sleeps a third of her life. And once I reviewed her home, there was an annual indication that she could be victimized by theft. The issue at work had to do with an employee embezzling from her. Bingo. Source of Wealth.
Another client of mine owned a very famous race horse. The horse won practically every race and made a substantial amount of money for the owner. Then the horse had a bad streak and was not winning as many races. The owner asked me to go to the horse’s stable and try to “feng shui” it. Aside from knowing that an open air stall with hay in it would be very difficult to do anything with, I also felt silly and knew that this was not going to help. She didn’t think it was silly. She was bringing the horse purified water, organic apples, hiding crystals in the stall, saging and doing all kinds of New Age rituals to help her horse get her Mo-Jo back.
What I offered instead, was to review her own home (source of wealth) and also review the home of her jockey. The jockey is in an intimate relationship with the horse, training and riding. And the jockey stands to make a lot of money if his horse wins a race. It’s called “the purse money” and it’s a percentage of the winnings, shared with the horse’s owner. Checking on the home energy of the jockey also more sense to me than the horse’s stable.
Everyone has their own destiny. What we can do with Feng Shui adjustments is help speed along the destiny, but we can’t fundamentally change it. We can help someone improve their circumstances in a way that seems very significant, but it still might be in the realm of their predetermined destiny and potential. If someone doubles their income after doing Feng Shui remedies, they are usually thrilled. But they are still not in the stratosphere of Jeff Bezos or Elon Musk. That’s destiny. Another Source of your Wealth.
Another area of Feng Shui expertise: when we help organize a business and recommend who works where. Sometimes those work spaces are very much predetermined based on the physicality of the business and who needs to have their office or desk close by. Should the president of the company take up the best part of the office if he or she hardly ever steps foot in the building? Or should the best areas be relegated to the sales force, or the production area, or the finance department? On a case-by-case basis, the staff most in charge of attracting clients, vendors, accounts and even the inventory could be put in the best locations, which the president of the company will benefit from. Source of Wealth. This harkens back to the olden days when we could say that what was best for the father in the house was best for the whole family. The Bread winner as source of wealth for others.
These examples are just to illustrate that your financial potential may or may not be tied to where you live, work or spend most of your time and may instead be linked to others. Believe it or not, some people decide for or against investing in a stock, based on the astrology predictions for the owner of the corporation and whether or not they are going to have a good year, riding on “good luck coat tails” of who owns the company.
