Nine Star Ki is a complementary divination art form to Feng Shui. Both draw information from the 9 stars (of the Big Dipper) and the fundamentals of Chinese metaphysics. The interpretation of the stars is often quite different in each domain and from Nine Star Ki we can observe what kind of personal cycle a human being is in, compared to Feng Shui which focuses on the built structure or the natural landscape.

Based on birth year alone, we see that Hillary Clinton is an 8 Soil Star person. The 8 Star is inherently related to the direction of Northeast. In 2016, the 8 star is parked in the Southwest direction. This means it is polar opposite to its home base since Northeast and Southwest are opposing directions. This kind of tension is like a tightly pulled rubber band and the term for it is “reversed luo shu axis.” This can mean that people who are the 8 Soil Star may have a challenging year with unexpected mishaps or set-backs. We have certainly seen many accusations, both real and imagined, hurled at Hillary throughout the year. While it is a kind of opposition year for her, she may also feel somewhat comfortable and empowered being in the Southwest “House” for 2016. As an earth/soil type person, being in an “earth” direction like Southwest can feel fine. As well, the Southwest House is related to images of an older woman, a matriarch, and she is holding that mantle exclusively over the other candidates.

Bernie Sanders is the 5 Soil Star based on his year of birth. The 5 Star is not related to any direction, but rather the energy of “center.” The 5 star people can hold court over all the directions and he does seem to be a person with a lot of energy and who enjoys being in the “eye of the storm.” That said, for him to be in the Northeast House is a double whammy against him. The Northeast “House” is related more to internal contemplation than being outward and social. The Northeast House can symbolize a volcano which appears inactive on the outside, but something getting ready to boil over from the inside. People who are in the Northeast House for a year can often surprise others around them with sudden changes they make or radical shifts that others may not understand.

The 5 Soil Star sits in the Northeast House polar opposite of Southwest for 2016. So, it’s quite personal here where Hillary and Bernie have squared off in opposing corners, with Bernie getting swept away on Hillary’s “reversed luo shu axis.” It’s the case of the innocent bystander getting caught in someone else’s turmoil. As well, Hillary is forced to look at the 5 star head on and its heavy force of gravity. This may be why Hillary would have to adopt some of Bernie’s platform and address these looming issues he has brought forth in his campaign.

Jill Stein is also a 5 Soil Star person. She has one more thing going against here this year, when adding principles from Chinese Astrology. She is born in the Year of the Tiger and this is a Monkey Year. Those two zodiac signs oppose each other and we could say in the most general way that this year’s energy is not working for her, but more against her. Of course, there is still some measure of Free Will, so I am not making any conclusive predictions for any candidate.

With Donald Trump, his birth star is the 9 Fire star. Are we surprised? 9 Star people are often celebrities or seen that way, with that kind of potential, including in some cases mental instability. The charge of being “temperamentally unfit” for president is one of the most severe claims one could make against a candidate, distinct from just being opposed to someone’s political views or ideology. Much has been written about the personality traits of all these stars, with the 9 Fire Star not surprisingly being associated with the most explosive energy. His 9 Star sits in the East House in 2016. The East House is related to the Wood element and Wood feeds a Fire. The East House is spring-time growth energy, so he is being fueled in a tremendous way.

Usually when any person’s star is in the East House they can get a lot accomplished. And that won’t end for him in 2016 because 2017 places 9 Star people in the Southeast House, which is also a Wood direction, also fueling the 9 Fire Star people. If he loses the election, he won’t be going away quietly most likely.

One of the practices which astrologers engage in for presidential election predictions is to look at the good luck or bad luck of each candidate for that time in their lives. If someone’s energy is on the rise and they are moving into a place of power, it may seem like a way to predict their victory. However, it is not totally conclusive.

One Chinese Feng Shui master had incorrectly predicted Hillary would win in 2008, precisely because he saw her assume an exalted seat of power in the near future. She did in fact move up the food chain by being Secretary of State. Another technique is to look at the charts of each candidate on Election Day, to see what kind of day they would be having. This proved inconclusive astrologically, as well as in fact, in the 2000 election when it was still undecided that day whether Gore or Bush was the winner.

Astrologers had a harder time predicting who would win in 2000 because Election Day’s energy was so indecisive. In Nine Star Ki, when we look at the chart for November 2016, we see a certain kind of intensity to the month. The monthly star for each direction matches the yearly star.

Hillary’s 8 star in the Southwest is joined by a monthly 8 Star. Bernie’s 5 Star in the Northeast is joined by a monthly 5 star in the Northeast. And the Donald’s 9 star in the East is joined by a monthly 9 star in the East. The annual 2 star in the center will be joined by a monthly 2 star and this affects large groups of people who identify with a certain cause or have certain things in common.

Nine Star Ki can predict global events, weather disasters, and other circumstances beyond the individual’s fate. So we can look at the November 2016 chart and imagine that some other intense event might occur in the same month as the elections, related to it or not. Conspiracy theorists are even worried about some false flag event which would post-pone the election or influence voter turn-out. In 2012, Hurricane Sandy undermined the tail end of Mitt Romney’s campaign and some people think it cost him the election.
