We have that funny saying, “Happy Wife, Happy Life.” The implication is that if a husband makes his wife happy, then everyone, including the husband, is supposedly happy. With Feng Shui in theory and practice, what is good for the parents is good for the children. This makes sense on the most basic level. If the parents are healthy and prosperous, they can better provide for the children.
In the olden days, it was mostly about the man of the house, the “bread winner.” If the husband prospered then the whole family would be secure and in good shape and the wife was usually financially dependent on the husband. Of course, this is a generality, but true in the most basic way. In fact, children learn both good and bad habits and traits from their parents, so they need to set a good example.
In trying to help clients house hunt, we often discover that not all the bedrooms have inherently good feng shui or timely flying stars. A difficult proposition is whether one should give the best bedroom to the parents or the child. These days, the master bedroom is sometimes clearly defined and it would be awkward to place a child in the intended master bedroom. The ideal would be if everyone could have a good bedroom, the most important rooms in the house.
Unless a child is already having a serious problem, the priority would be to find a house that is good for the parents if a compromise like that has to be made. Sometimes I discuss with clients a house type that can be draining or not optimal for financial success and that is directed toward the adults in the house.
If there is a question about the timing of a construction or remodel, we choose a date that is best for the parents and then the children should be covered under that kind of plan, although not always. In the complementary discipline known as Chinese Astrology, the child may have the first few years of their life read through the parents’ charts more than their own. My own personal chart, out from under the umbrella of my parents, started just before my tenth birthday.
Likewise, in a work environment, what is considered good for the president of the company should be good for all the employees and the whole business. There would be a trickle down affect in the most general way. Of course, when the president is not working on the premises, then the best Feng Shui areas can be given to the most important employees. If they work in the best zones, then they will help the business be successful too.
There are other general and symbolic associations we can make, such as:
If the owner of a corporation has a good astrological year, it bodes well for the investors.
If the capital building for a state or federal government has good Feng Shui, then it says something general about the citizens, with their health and prosperity.
