When the interior metal element is needed as a feng shui remedy, the real element is best, such as items made of silver, gold, brass, bronze, steel, copper, aluminum or any other metallic material. Metal colors can be used as a complement.  If there is some reason why real metal cannot be used, then it would be even more important to have metal color on display in a big way.

Metal colors are any shades of gold, silver, white or gray.  While metal may be thought of as a serious color, I’ve been told by color psychologists that it can enhance or stimulate creativity.  In fact, years ago it was in vogue to decorate a baby’s room with black, white, and gray mobiles–the opposite of what you might think is appropriate for a growing child.  Of course, there is a subjective reaction to just about any color and many people are just as stimulated by green or yellow or other colors.  On top of a neurological response, there are cultural associations with color which cannot be denied.

Metal colors can be any color that has a sheen to it as well, and this includes a color called rose gold, which looks related to copper. Some stones, like pyrite also exude the metal energy.  In the paint field, there are shaded of yellow which are sometimes referred to as gold, but unless there is a shimmer to it, that color would be in the earth category.

When it comes to colors like white or gray, what can lift the energy and make it not appear so sterile or serious is if there are different shades put together and different textures of the same color. This gives the eye more variety to look at and relax with.
