When the lay person thinks about the “wood” element, they may think of brown wooden furniture. They may think of the brown color of branches. But it’s the green leaves we should focus on.   When the Wood Element is needed as an elemental remedy for a room, a live leafy plant is the best option.

However, there can be reasons why a real plant cannot be used. Or there may be times when you want to use a real plant, but also support the energy further with a color associated with the wood phase.  When using green color as a substitute for the real thing, we have to use it on a large scale, very noticeable in a room.  So, here we go with some visual samples of the Wood Element.

Use things that make sense for the room, its function, who is using it.  Some ways include wall color, but for a wood remedy that is only for the year or not long term, you may want green decor items that are easy to remove, like a rug or piece of art.

When using green color, the more saturated and intense the better, such as an emerald green or forest green.  In other words, a very faint sage green might not be strong enough to work as the wood element. If the space that needs green is adjacent to a room that has blue tones, that may dictate what shade of green will be easy on the eyes, compared to an adjacent room where browns are the dominant color.

Like other colors, there are umpteen different shades of green, so hopefully you can find a color you like when the wood element needs to be represented with color.
