When the Water Element is needed for a Feng Shi adjustment, real H2O is best. Clean, circulating water is the ideal. However, there are times when real water cannot be used, whether it is a fountain or an aquarium. Some people have pets or children who would get into the water.
There may be other cases where water is simply not allowed or considered a breeding ground for bacteria, including some doctor’s offices. In such cases, you can use large scale color which represents the water element.
At the bottom of the sea the water appears black. Black is the best representation of water, but don’t use it in a room where it will make the room appear dark or depression. Black can be a very serious looking color. In bright rooms, it can often look very appealing.
As an alternative, a large display of blue color can give you the sense of water. If there is enough blue color, it can make you feel like you are in a pool. It can even make you feel cooler. Then you know you have enough blue color. As with the other elements, if the element is needed only for a year and not long term, then choose decor items which can be easily replaced.
