The term “chong” alludes to opposition. And the Chong Day can be a day when your personal energies are not as strong as other days. This day will repeat every 12 days, perpetually, and you can refer to a Chinese Solar calendar for those repeating days.
The recommendation is to not do things outside your normal routine on your Chong Day, and that can be different for each person. For example, a Chong Day might not be a good day to travel, but for a pilot this is a regular day of work and nothing special.
The Chong Day is not the best day for making big financial commitments or doing anything physically risky or signing contracts. It can be a draining day.
The Chong day for each person is determined based on their Chinese zodiac sign. We have twelve Chinese zodiac signs and they each have a polarity with the sign which is 6 signs away from it in a set order. For example, the Horse sign is 6 years away from the Rat within this 12-year repeating cycles. So, for a Rat person, Horse days are their Chong Days. Likewise, for a Horse person, it is the Rat Day which is their Chong Day.
The zodiac signs are affiliated with years, month, days and even hours which all repeat perpetually in the same order: Rat, Ox, Tiger, Rabbit, Dragon, Snake, Horse, Sheep, Monkey, Rooster, Dog and Pig.
The Chinese zodiac signs are also related to certain directions. And this is how you can also extrapolate that a certain direction could be your Chong Direction. As your Opposition direction, you can find it draining or tiring if you sleep with your head in your Chong direction. For example, the Rabbit and Rooster are Chong to each other. So a Rabbit person sleeping in the Rooster direction finds this their Chong direction.
These directions will be polar opposite to each other. For example, the Snake direction is related to S/SE and it opposes or “chongs” the Pig direction of N/NW. Here is a list of the directions related to the Signs:
Rat=North Ox= N/NE Tiger= E/NE Rabbit=East Dragon= E/SE Snake= S/SE
Horse= South Sheep=S/SW Monkey= W/SW Rooster=West Dog=W/NW Pig=N/NW
With the Chong Day, you can try to avoid important activities on those days, but it is not always practical or possible to change your schedule if it is your Chong Day. Keep in mind that this is based just on the year of birth. It is not any more specific than that. Comprehensive astrology advice should include the entire birth date and not just the year. Below is a list of the signs paired, which are “Chong” to each other.
Rat-Horse Ox-Sheep Tiger-Monkey Rabbit-Rooster Dragon-Dog Snake-Pig
As another example, Dragon Days are Chong Days for Dog people.
